Thread: 110 CFM Baby!

I guess this counts as miscellaneous shaving equipment.

I store my razors in a rack in my bathroom. Well, my wife really likes to empty the hot water tank while taking her shower and refuses to open the bathroom door to let all the steam out.

Straight Razors + Horn Scales + 20 minutes of steam = total disaster

So I just installed a 110 CFM exhaust fan right above the shower - the quietest one that is made. Took 6 hours rolling in fiberglass insulation and it was worth every minute.

The bathroom is clear and the razors love it. I wonder how many M3 cartridges I would have had to buy for this much cheaper hobby now

It's also worth it because it reduces the likelihood of mold growing in your bathroom.

I have a cheaper alternative. After a few minutes turn the hot water off at the source.

You could do what one of my coworkers did to his teenage daughter...
He installed an on demand hot water heater to save money but as it never runs out things got more expensive. So he put a timer on it. It now runs for 10 minutes then stops heating the water.

Also, over in the vendors corner you can pick up a sweet case that comes with dessicant packs to help control the moisture...

A quality fan really helps things.

My friend is a ventilation engineer for a gold mine. He says that their "little" auxiliary fans move 50,000 cfm. You could always pick one of those up if your current fan doesn't do the trick.

I can't immagine what kind of air the main fan can move !!!

Let's so some quick math here... Let's say you have a 30ft x 30ft, 2 story house + basement. Assuming all floors have 8ft ceilings. That's 30ft x 30ft x 8ft x 3floors = 21600 cubic feet. That would mean you would be able to completely remove & replace the air in your entire home more than twice each minute. That's one heck of a bathroom fan !! I WANT ONE !!! )

I suppose lots of guys store their razors in the bathroom. I would never do so. Anywhere moisture is present is not good, IMHO. I do hope the fan helps, though. Sounds like a great fart eliminator!

Yeah, actually, divorces can be pretty expensive.
