    Default Mahogany Scuttle

Well I don't have the tools to work clay and I wanted to make a scuttle so I went with mahogany.
Every square inch is sealed with numberous coats of polyeurothane so it is deffanitely water tight.
The last coat of clear on the handle is drying so I will have to wait until tommorrow to try it out. You can also see a matching mahogany bowl of Bald Frog shaving soap. It's a recipe my wife and I have been working on, I hope to have it refined and ready to send out some samples in a couple weeks.

Mastershake: That is an interesting piece of work and well done. Unusual, I might add. Will it keep the lather warm?

Looks really interesting and not the usual fare. How will the wood handle the heat transfer to the lather? Is the lather bowl thin walled?I imagine the water will stay nice and warm I'm just not able to wrap ny mind around the heat transfer to the lather.

Yes, the lather bowl is thin, I will find out about it's functionality tommorrow.

Just got done trying out the scuttle, the water from my faucet could have been hotter but it kept the lather warm for 3 passes. I would say mission successful! The lather could have been hotter but I think that was due to my tap water not being very hot. The retention like I said was good for 3 latherings, if fact the third was warmer that the first. Maybe I was too anchious and didn't let it sit long enough to heat fully. Well it will make a nice retirement gift for the guy at work!
