    Sounds like you were using water that was too hot, causing the lather to dry out. Try water at about 110-120 F.

    I think a scuttle is totally worth it, especially in cold weather, I dont really use mine much in the summer. I have a dirty bird 1.5 and believe it is worth every penny

    I am now 10 days on my way whit my Schwartzweiss scuttle from the moment he has arrived.
    And can report that I regret that I bought not earlier a scuttle.
    This thing is great!so a big YES to my question "is it worth the money"

    You will love it. I use a tea kettle to heat the water because it takes a while for me to get hot water.

    Remember not to overheat your scuttle; your lather will dry out quickly.
