Default Going on European Cruise - Where Should I Go to Get Shaving Finds?

    Hey All,
In July, I'm going on a European cruise for my honeymoon (trying this again). Where Should I Go to Get Shaving Finds? I'm going to: Barcelona, Spain (quick stop -launch point), Nice, France, Florence/Rome/Naples, & Venice, Italy, Kotor, Montenegro and Split, Croatia.

I have never been outside the US except Canada so at 50, this will be a cool trip. I hope to pick up some real nice straight razor finds there that I cant get here or are hard to get. Any ideas? ....I dont want anything that will get me caught up at customs (lol).

    Thanks!

I think the biggest difference is the availability of certain soaps and creams.

Can I be your friend for a while?
It's difficult to recommend something, I know only shops in Paris, France and Amsterdam. Try to ask someone at the place about barbers shops, dont know how about razors, but soap and creams you must find easily

Hahaha...I knew that coment would spark some comments. Thanks for paying attention.

My folks, now in their 70's, won the lotto a little while back in their State (God bless them)...bought a Harley trike, traveling and such. They decided to take my sister and our spouses on this two week trip to Europe, all expenses paid (except spending money - damn them). I keep telling them not to spend my sister's half of the inheritence all at once.... I have never been to Europe.

Anyway I am really stoked to go and collect as much minty antique straight razors and some other goodies as I can without being detained at customs. I love a good treasure hunt. I was just wondering if anyone was ever over in those areas and had a few hot places to check out for stuff. I will ask the locals maybe too.

    Thanks for all the input.

Wow! It sounds like it will be a mini adventure.

    Don't forget two things:

    1. These areas are all much closer to Austria / Germany then we are, so keep an eye out for any Thuringian Stones you may come across.

    2. Don't spend so much time hunting for treasure that you miss out on the memories. They won't rust, and you will treasure them for the rest of your life.

    Enjoy!!!

Sounds like a blast! Stop in at little pharmacies and whatnot along the way, but make sure they're along the way. There's very little that you can't find online, and your vacation time is far more precious than the few bucks you might save on import costs. Seriously.
