    Beautiful.
Love how organized it is. Makes my OCD smile.

    MuskieMan-
That is very well done - looks great!
I have a question - I am pretty sure that one of the reasons (amoung others) that cedar is used in cigar boxes is because of its ability to hold moisture for proper cigar storage/transport - do you see any signs of this being an issue?

Cedar does help keep the humidor stable, but as long as he's not adding humidity it will dry like any untreated wood.

Without considering the price, I prefer the cigar box option. I probably could not consider the price of the Gerstner, because if I tried, the DIY part of my brain would start shouting and distract me.

Adding a lock if necessary would not be too complicated. I am in a similar position with the kids getting all grabby and climbing on everything, so going high is less of a reliable option.

Additionally, I am staying off of eBay so I have a smaller stock of razors waiting to be redeemed, which means the time can be spent on the organizational insides of the boxes. Although the boxes only hold a few razors, you could organize by region, brand, time period, etc... I also see building a simpler, larger box to hold all of the cigar boxes (chest of drawers-ish)...OK, now I'm just starting to think about this too much.

    Edit:

I guess I could not stop thinking about this. One more kind of crazy option would be to make an acrylic box and organize it like the cigar box, but with plastic parts. It might take some work to make it look good, but the see through factor could be cool...

Cedar does hold moisture better, but the way I look at it is that inside the cigar box will be the same humidity as my location since I don't have those little fancy humidity packs that are often seen in cigar boxes. It did cross my mind, but I don't keep it in the bathroom or anything. I guess we will find out in the future! and thank you! I like it so far.

    Default New Storage Box

I decided that I didnt want to pay over $100 for a razor box and I didnt have any old cigar boxes laying around, so I stopped in at Hobby Lobby the other day and found a nice little hinged lid box and some foam and velvet so I figured I'd put one together. I think in all it cost about $30 to make. So heres some pictures of it all finished. Dont mind the fact that the only straight in it is a Shavette.
