    Storage:

The kids are getting better and better about being able to reach things and are altogether becoming much too curious about dad's razors. It's time to get something that locks!

I have been looking at these - rather classy I think. Anyone have one? Are they worth the cash? Any other ideas? Thanks Gents.

I have the alembicase. It has a place to put a lock, like a luggage lock. The vendor is a member here too.

That looks like an elegant solution to your problem, David, until you fill up the drawers as Epd noted.

But you could always get another plain locking case for razors further down in your rotation when that happens. You don't need the entire stable at the ready, right?

Yes, it looks like a nice machinist tool box (smaller size) that was turned into a jewelry box. The only reason I know this is because my dad is a machinist. They make them in wood (or at least they used to) and metal. If you want to send walleyeman a PM I'm sure he could give you the down low on all sorts of machinist tool boxes. I know they make them for things other than machinist tool boxes, but that's what they look like to me. They are pretty expensive from what I know as well (and from looking at the link to the specific one you posted).

I have a Gerstner box. When I got mine a number of years ago they were still made in the U.S. Mine is 1/4 sawn solid oak. Now most are made in the Far East. Mine has 4 drawers and can hold around 50 razors. I've outgrown mine long ago. It does have a lock and is a very nice piece. If you don't need a display piece there are cheaper alternatives.

You can still get Gerstner chests made in America - but you pay for it. The american made model that is similar to the one above is $980

    Default Homemade Storage Solution

    Hey everyone,
Now that I have more than just a couple razors, I decided I needed a place to store them other than individual little boxes. So I saw a cigar box storage solution on here and decided to make something similar to it. It can hold 8 straights, 2 DE's, and a few packs of DE blades comfortably. I used thin strips of basswood from Hobby Lobby to make all the dividers. I cut them to how I wanted and then sanded just a little and glued them in. I'm pretty happy with how everything came out.

What looks like an ordinary cigar box...
