Without considering the price, I prefer the cigar box option. I probably could not consider the price of the Gerstner, because if I tried, the DIY part of my brain would start shouting and distract me.

Adding a lock if necessary would not be too complicated. I am in a similar position with the kids getting all grabby and climbing on everything, so going high is less of a reliable option.

Additionally, I am staying off of eBay so I have a smaller stock of razors waiting to be redeemed, which means the time can be spent on the organizational insides of the boxes. Although the boxes only hold a few razors, you could organize by region, brand, time period, etc... I also see building a simpler, larger box to hold all of the cigar boxes (chest of drawers-ish)...OK, now I'm just starting to think about this too much.

I guess I could not stop thinking about this. One more kind of crazy option would be to make an acrylic box and organize it like the cigar box, but with plastic parts. It might take some work to make it look good, but the see through factor could be cool...
