Teak Shaving Bowl
I recently picked up a teak bowl that I thought I would try for making lather. Got it from a local book store that is going out of business for about $3. The inside dimensions are about 3" diameter and about 1 1/4" deep. The inside wall curves alittle bit which is nice cause it holds the lather while you build it with the brush. I am hoping they didn't shut the doors yet cause I want to go back and get some more. FIgured I could use some to put my pucks in instead of using mugs or glass bowls, but for just building lather it worked well so far. Every time I go somewhere I look for stuff I could convert into shaving equipment or be used to make something.

I've never seen Teak that color. I guess they used some real dark stain. Usually it's much lighter. I have an old vintage soap bowl of teak. I'll look for some photos.

I just know they were selling it as teak along with teak furniture and other stuff. Either way it turned out to be a nice shaving bowl.

Thats a nice little bowl. Kinda looks like someone might have stained it, I like that deep rich color.
