Thanked: 12I'd call it "The Beard Scaper" followed by w/e RPM the fan is.
So it would look like this if the fan was say 2000rpm lol.
"The Beard Scaper 2000"
This could make me rich

I think that you would have to show proof that 1746 rpm with a 14.8 mm carbon fiber blade of 6.5" in diameter would create the perfect angle to prove your rights to the patent.
OOOPS! I just gave away my secret.

What's the best product to use as lube for clipper blades? I've heard of people using sewing machine oil, mineral oil, baby oil...I know some will break down and gunk up and some aren't good for skin contact. I was just at Wal-Mart (Canadian) and the lady recommended high quality motor oil.....lol I passed on that one.

In regards to sharpening the blades....there should be no issues with them not lining up after I take them to a hone (just a little bit to clean them up and remove a tiny bit of rust) because of how they are designed (Oster, Spartan model if you're interested). You can tighten the wing-nut to the point where you can't even squeeze them. In regards to how the blades align, as in not what I just mentioned but side to side, I don't think that matters as they only go on one way.
Here are some pics so you know what I mean
Sorry for the cam quality, the laptop cam is faster than my better camera :P

Slightly different than mine but the same overall. Mine have a slight taper to the top part of the handle. [For the lack of a better term on my part.] If I take them apart and reassemble I cannot guarantee that they will be in "perfect" match. This is why I think that if I take them apart I should at least flatten them back to match for the next wear cycle. If they wear together they match perfectly.

Ah, maybe it's just the Oster ones that only fit on one way? There is literally only one way to put them together with no room for adjusting the alignment of the blades (kind of fool-proof I guess), other than how tight they are. Do you get what I mean when I say that you can tighten the wing nut to make the blades tighter? Basically, no matter how much wear is on either blade (as long as each blade remains flat and not warped from using something other than a flat hone), you can always get them nice and snug without any space between the blades?

I think that we are seeing the same thing. I think that if we put them together "loose" and allow themselves to seat together or match each other before tension is applied they would compliment each other. I am talking thousandths of an inch.

What should I use as a lubricant for the blades? There is blade lube on Oster's website for about $3 but anywhere I look to actually buy the stuff has it for around $20 :/
