I have never seen a double pie maker like that.

So the lodge is pretty bad like someone never knew how to clean it or season it. Probably 1/16 inch of gunk on the bottom.
    Not pitted though and smooth.
Has anyone tried the 50/50 vinegar and water method to strip before?

    Never tried the vinegar/water mixture.

I've used a lye/water bath with good success, Benz uses a service to Soda Blast old pieces with lots of build up.

It usually only takes about a week to 10 days for my acid bath to clean up a really bad piece. I only use the acid bath for cooking cast iron.

Tortilla pie experiment with a lot of leftovers mixed in.

Letting it cool to see how it tastes.

Something like a Flour or Corn Tortilla Lasagna? Just wondering.

Whipped up a batch of cornbread, for ham n bean soup.

Personally, I won't make cornbread any other way. That goes for pineapple upsidedown cake, too.

    Aloha!

Oh my. Skillet Cornbread. You do realize that now I have to prepare some. My grandmother used to do this every Sunday for my grandfather, and then she'd brown some butter in a little cast iron skillet to drizzle over the top just before serving.

OK, out comes the skillet and the corn meal and flour. Corn bread and Chile for dinner.

    Mahalo for the idea!

A flour tortilla Lasagna would be a good description!

Lots of leftovers etc. tossed in.

This batch not in my top ten dinners but a good tasting supper.
