    Default Christmas Eve leftover experiment

After two days from the big Christmas Eve dinner at my house this is what is left and the experiment of what to do with it.

A Frittata made in cast iron with a leek butter lube. Chopped up baked potatoes for the first layer and then shrimp on half with salami and rutabaga on the other. Some onion and then mostly garlic cheddar and then a small corner of cherry cheddar on the shrimp side.

Don't ask me to explain the cherry cheddar ask my wife........

The only thing not leftover is the eggs.

    This is before the oven.

Don't ask me for the recipe!

Chances are that this will never be duplicated!

    Been there--Done that!

I believe it was the television celebrity chef Jeff Smith (The Frugal Gourmet) who said "The key to creative cooking is to omit and substitute."

This is why I like Christmas dinner so much better than Thanksgiving. Way more variety and I love seeing what people come up with.

Sorry but I don't have any pics of my Christmas Dinner. A wrench or two tossed into the works made things interesting so it was a bit late and afterward I sent 99.9% of everything home with the kids.

I do have the scraps and bones from my home cured and smoked picnic ham cooking into ham stock. I love the All American 921--Thanks Benz!
