    Default Cheese & Onion Tart

Today's bake was a request from my brother Alan, a very retro back to my Junior school dinner days, a firm favourite with everyone, the Cheese & Onion flan, It turned out superb, I will be enjoying this tomorrow with a Rocket salad and some sweet beetroot.

Must be a, over there, kind of dish. Never heard of it over here before, but looks and sounds good

That brings back some memories, I had that at school too and sometimes my mum would make one. Maybe I should do one as well, thanks for the idea.

Funny what you miss when you move abroad, I often go to a local British expats store and buy orange squash and chocolate hobnobs. I even got the Smiths crisps with the blue packet of salt recently.

I haven't had a nice pint of bitter or fish n chips either, I did find Bisto chip shop curry granules the other day though so my fries are the business now.

Of course there is some excellent food here that I never saw before coming to Canada, Poutine baby!!

I used to go the the States a lot, I went to buffet style restuarants in England but I never saw anything like the Golden Corral, Americans sure know how to do all you can eat, I loved it.

Shudder! I'll take Putin (the Russian fare, not the politics/economy/etc.)

Shudder!! You've not lived, until you see someone at Golden Corral eat too much, puke, clean-up (optional), then go back for more.

    And everyone applauds!!!
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Man that makes my mouth water. Sounds like a real across the pond treat. I'll have to try it. I love to try new regional dishes. Next to my family's shop there.was a Korean grocery and the owner Mr. Shin loved me because I would eat anything he put in front of me.
I'll have to post a sweet potato pone I make some time. It is basically sweet potato pie minus the crust. It's a real, deep south treat.
