There's one thing for certain and that is that you can't say that the onions didn't caramelize.
I hope it can be salvaged without too much of the 'well baked' flavor.
It happens to the best of us.Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Most of it is gone!
