Thanked: 235That makes sense, but I'm sure they said the same thing about putting a razor in a vibratory tumbler.

Thanked: 1160I believe Dwarvenchef would be correct on that. But on on that note,if you get on you tube, there is a video about making razors at the Dovo factory and one of the steps in manufacturing..involves electrolosis.I still wouldn't try it though unless the blade were a loser.

We seem to be diverging from the topic of cast iron pans?

Thanked: 1160Sorry bout that...we started by talking about using electrolosis to remove the pre seasoning off the new modern Lodge Logic cast iron.

I have a 10" cast iron skillet I purchased at Academy a few years ago, and I absolutely love it. I had it all the way black and seasoned, then my wife decided she needed to clean it after frying some hamburger. It's gonna take a long time to reseason it...

Saturday morning is a fine time for cast iron skillets.
I asked my daughter to fry some eggs for me this morning as a joke - we have guards on the stove so she can't turn on the fire, but I didn't think she'd actually try to do it. When I finally crawled out of bed and stumbled to the kitchen, I saw she'd grabbed a stool so she could reach the stove, and decided to use a strainer with a handle (I guess it looks like a cooking pot) and had cracked an egg into it. The yolk had run down into the gas burners and was sticky all over everything. I had a great laugh, but my wife wasn't quite as pleased. Such is life right? But then I cooked her some proper breakfast in the cast iron and all was right in the the hoglahoo world againFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

I have some cast iron pans from the 60ies and 70ies that I inherited from my parents. I don’t remember the brand but they are made in Norway. I use them all the time. I used them this morning for eggs and bacon.
