Exchanged a few emails with a lovely lady at Greene King brewery and she was nice enough to send me this in the post free of charge.
Happy days!!
Luckily I have a few old speckled hens in the fridge to fill them

Hmm... I might have to try that one day
Now you have made me want to pick up a few speckled hen's, which is probably a good thing.

Probably my favourite ale, or at least one that I can drink a lot of.
She advised me to try old crafty hen and I had to admit I'd never heard of it but she directed me to the Greene King website and I'll be getting a few soon

Thanked: 127Today is Kölsch Day :-)
In this Case a Reisdorf Kölsch, a speciality of Cologne and i dont know if there is a similar Beer avaible in the US, UK or elsewhere,
its hard to describe how it tastes, maybe a tasty Lager could be a good comparison.
Kölsch is served in a special kind of glass, called the "Kölsch Flute" with 0,2l Volume, in Germany there is a myth that Kölsch glasses empty much faster as any other beer glasses because of the slim Design, but its only a myth, most german beer glasses (especially Pilsener Glasses) have a Volume of 0,2l, but Pilsener isnt so quaffable and drinking it is slower in mst times :-)

Tonight I'm enjoying a new offering from Shock Top -- Honey Bourbon Cask Wheat.
From their Web site:
"Shock Top’s newest edition is Honey Bourbon Cask Wheat. This Belgian-Style unfiltered wheat ale is brewed with honey, caramel malt, and aged on bourbon cask staves for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment all year round."
This stuff is really good. Dunno if I'd want to drink it every day, but boy what a pleasant surprise it was!
