I sadly no longer truck with Old John Barleycorn, but when I did, this was one of my faves. So much love for this...
And of the few places a person can go and order one of these, this place I miss most:
Delilah's in Chicago. Best single malt selection in the US. Also a great place to listen to your old crappy punk rock favorites.!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.

After finally having my laptop back free of viruses and such, it's back to beer-talking. I am savoring an Oktoberfest beer that I brewed....well not really an Oktoberfest beer, I forgot that these bad puppies ferment at 50f temps and are lagered at 35F-40F but here in Florida we don't have these temperatures, and I need a temp control for my fridge. This is more like a Pale ale brewed with lager yeast. Attached is a pic of the culprit. HOG

Funny that you mention it. The yeast cake settled to the bottom; I did a two-step fermentation: first one on a fermentation bucket and the second on a glass carboy. Both processes were conducted at room temp. Approximately 72F. I did use an ampule of White Labs Oktoberfest yeast. HOG.

The yeast cake definitely didn't behave in a very lager-y manner...I'm sure it was just too warm for it.

What beer are you drinking today?
After a long day at work, what better than to have a cold barley pop. For me it is more of a favorite: Dogfish Head 90 Minutes IPA. Cheers guys!

Tonight is one I'd never seen before: Magic Hat India Pale Lager. Lager? Interesting. And here in my ignorance I assumed that the (post-alewives) difference between ale and lager was that the use of more hops (and different varieties) was what made a brew an ale.
Regardless, this stuff is good. Pleasant, hoppy flavor one comes to expect in an IPA, followed by a sharper bitterness. Then there's an unexpected sweetness that lingers on the tongue.
