I am new to gin but I sapphire is by far the best I have had, but as said before real dangerous. No bite at all so it will sneak up on you. I prefer my gin and tonic with lemon instead of lime, some times both if i want something a little diiferent.

:) yeah, I had to spring for the fancy tonic water too - I felt the regular one kinda wastes the no.209

Sapphire has been my norm for a while now but did pick up some hendricks the other week and will either stick with that or alternate them. Preferred drinks are gin rickey, gin and tonic or a chelsey sidecar.
March has been unseasonably warm here, so decided to start quinine therapy early. Gin and Tonic season usually doesn't start until about mid-April/early May but hey, you can't be too careful about malaria.
I guess I'm kind of strange when it comes to liquor (and many other things as well, I'm sure.) I have seasons. The Spring and early summer is Gin and Tonic season. By mid-June or so it becomes too hot to drink liquor. I then turn into an almost full time beer drinker, except of course for the occassional boat drink (mostly while listening to Jimmy Buffett or Bob Marley.) In the Fall, when the weather begins to cool down (in as much as it does so here) my tastes seem to turn towards bourbon and/or Irish whiskey. Being a codger, I suppose I should turn into a Scotch drinker but for some odd reason I never took to it as a younger man (maybe a project for Fall or Winter). Anyway, cheers fellas, my G&T is locked and loaded and I'm reaching for an Edward's Burl Cut and some Billy Budd.

Just thought I'd share what I'm having tonight. I live in Florida and it's hot here already. This drink is perfect for cooling down. Cucumber Gimlet! 2 parts gin, 1 part simple syrup, juice of one lime. Muddle three slices of cucumber shake and pour over ice. Garnish with a cucumber slice. You get bits of cucumber which are good to crunch on!

My neighbor was a bartender while in nursing school and she makes a fantastic drink with gin she calls a Gita G. It is 1 part gin to 2 or 3 parts club soda depending how strong you want with crushed ginger and a squirt or two lime juice. Great summer drink
