Weather Fishin or hunting, I always made sure I had something to eat.
Its how I survived for many years when I was single, and living on my own. After paying all the bills each month I was left with $32 for groceries, gas, toilet paper ect. I even shot squirrels out my kitchen window with a pellet gun, while living in the city. Discharge of any firearm in the city would definitely get you a trip to the gray bar motel, but when your hungry and dinner is sitting in your open window eating your peanut buttered crackers....well crackers and peanut butter is better with a bit o squirrel on the side. [emoji1]

@outback -- Nice to see you can get Black Butte Porter clear over in Ohio. That's my favorite beer. Next time you find yourself at the grocer's, you may want to try the Heinz reduced sugar ketchup. I think it tastes better than their standard variety, FWIW.

Well since I had a hankering for some spaghetti today I needed some French bread to go with it. Here it is after baking. (The fancy twisted one is sealed and frozen for another time).

Here's the bread split, and coated with butter that had garlic and rosemary in it and then topped with grated Romano cheese on top and placed under the broiler.

Its a nice porter, goes great with food.
Our local brewer here in Akron, (Thirsty Dog ) makes a stout beer called milk house stout, its a more bolder version of the black butte. You can really taste the coffee and chocolate after notes.

Problem is finding the milk house, its made not more than 30 minutes from my house, but nobody carries it, I came across it in a local restaurant.[emoji31]

Reminds me of the Ballast Point Mocha Marlin I had last week. A porter with coffee and chocolate notes. Mmmmm.

Removed them from their outer wear and replaced it with corn flour, corn meal, and spices, and promptly gave them a proper bubble bath in oil.
Some homemade tarter sauce, hand cut fries ( chips ), and a nice dark porter to wash it down.

I spent about 14 months in Japan and ate tons and tons of yakisoba. Ive called every Japanese restaurant in my area and nobody serves it. It's strange because it's such a common dish in Japan. It's been many years now since I've tasted this stuff, and I finally broke down and made some. This is my first attempt but it will not be my last. It came out pretty good but the sauce was all wrong. It wasn't that old familiar flavor that I've been craving. It was very good though none the less. I'll try some different sauce recipes until I get what I'm looking for.
