And now, I'm caught up. Fried okra from the garden, leftover crawfish tails and diced gator from the pizzas in a down da bayou red sauce over grits, leftover half bottle of Beaujolais.

You are on fire CCR!!! Great stuff.
Shepherd's Pie, the traditional way with ground lamb. They didn't have ground mutton but I figured lamb counts as "traditional."Attachment 353566
Rogan josh is a dish I've never had but I'd like to try it. I'd love to see a good recipe. Some dishes just need the hevier flavor of mutton. Shepherd's pie is that way for me. I think deer would be better than beef but I've heard of people making it with turkey. That just doesn't have enough flavor for me.
If it doesn't contain sheep it's not a shepherd's pie lol.
If it's beef, it's a cottage pie.
My Rogan Josh recipe is based off of a cookbook I have tweaked, but I'm happy to post up the recipe from the book which is a solid recipe.
Does require making your own paste.

7 jars of marinara from Carmine's Family Style Restaraunt cookbook (based on it anyway)
We use this as a base for all kinds of other sauces and italian dishes
