As it's your birthday, i will have a wee dram with you tonight.
I also had one given to me for my birthday last year, let me know your opinion.Attachment 190702
Enjoy.
Lagavulin is the most delicious whisky I have ever tasted. Cheers!
Clynelish 16 y.o. Sherry butt, nice and smoky with a sweet sherry note. Needs a splash of water to release all the aroma.
I opened a bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 this morning after a night shift. Subtle stuff. Honey, a bit of brine and flowers and fruit and just a hint of wood smoke. I only added a small teaspoon of water but I think I'll use a little less next time, it tasted a bit washed out. It's subtle stuff but has a fairly long lasting and complex finish, which as far as I'm led to believe points to quality.
I have to laugh at some of this posts. The ones that go on about "A purest would not drink a blend, or would never add water, or Ice! what for?". What does a purest know about what you like? What I have heard that makes the most since to me is " The only bad bottle of Whisk(e)y is an empty one and the only wrong way to drink it, is before you Drive!".

I'm currently enjoying a couple of fingers of Tin Cup Colorado Whiskey while watching shaving videos on YouTube with the Shepherd. Typical Sat night I guess.
The Ileach cask strength. That is one impressive overwhelmingly awesome taste! :)
