Teachers was one of the better blends around ten years ago, especially for the price. I just saw Ralfy's recent review of it though, and it seems it's going downhill fast. We used to have famous grouse in the bar. I'm really not a fan of it, but it's another well known brand so it sells.
I like Old Crow, or Wild Turkey, I do not like Scotch Whiskey, but I do drink Old Bushmills Black Label, Old Bushmills, I can stomach Jameson's Irish Whiskey. I have also been known or accused of drinking Canadian Club.
I have a friend, that turned me on to some Glenfiddich Scotch,[Search domain en.wikipedia.org] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenfiddich is a single malt scotch, that is the only Scotch I will drink if I have Scotch. People seem to think that the sun rises and sets in Chivas Regal Scotch.[Search domain en.wikipedia.org] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chivas_RegalWhich in my opinion is garbage, (I'm not prejudice I hate everyone equally!) I was given a bottle of Old Crow, for my 21st. Birthday, and I have drank it ever since. I was given a bottle of Irish Whiskey one year as a Christmas present, it was Old Bushmill Black Label, I like it over ice. Mix it with Iced Coffee and you have a great cup or glass of Irish Coffee.

The elixir this evening is Laphroaig 10 y.o.
I had a taste of chivas regal in the tax free at an airport once and wasn't impressed at all, so I'm with you on that one. It wasn't the worst whisky I've tasted by a long way, but it really wasn't great. Could be worth trying a couple more single malts if you can find miniatures somewhere. Just found old crow isn't available in Norway, so I'll keep an eye out for it when I'm in england in a few months.
That same year I was given a Bottle of "Jack Daniel's" I also bought a bottle of "Jim Beam" (which in 1987 bought the parent company of "Old Crow") So that is why I probably still prefer "Old Crow Whiskey" over "Jim Beam Whiskey". They were both acquired by the Japanese I prefer American made Products. Makers Mark was a great whiskey, but they have also been bought up by Beam Suntory. "Jack Daniels is one of the still "American Owned Distilling companies, not bought up by the Japanese company Suntory.
It is really hard trying to find something Made in America and owned by American Companies.
