I didn't get to speak to Fred Laing, but the 20 yo Blair Athol was very good indeed. The whisky club members were fun. One of the guys who seemed to be in charge ordered a whisky and I asked if he wanted a single or a double. He said "Single please. It's about the flavours, not about getting drunk." Then they all got really drunk, but in a much nicer way than the people we have who are trying to get drunk.
Finally opened the bottle of Bunnahabhain Toiteach I bought more than a year ago. Very happy I did, it tastes awesome. Sweet peaty smoke, burnt rubber, antiseptic, coal fires. Tastes like nothing you should ever taste, but in a really good way. I'd recommend it to any Islay fans.
