I needed a dram like this tonight for... various reasons.
It's such an extraordinary whisky. Basically, it's the Laphroaig Quarter Cask aged in Spanish sweet sherry (PX) butts. It's got a nose like peated Turkish delight and packs in taste all the Laphroaig fire and iodine inexplicably balanced with hints of sultanas and fruitcake.

    +1 Ardbeg 10 lovers.

    +1 Lagavulin 16.

    +1 Good ol' Laphroaig 10.

+1 Bruichladdich's Peat Project and Octomore.

    Islay forever!

    To sing thy name!"

This may be a silly question but does anyone here have or know anyone who has experience of Glenfarclas's Family Cask range?

They appear to be released quarterly but I've never seen any tasting notes or ratings for them so wonder if anyone knows what they're like and how they compare to other...whiskies.

Over the past year and a half, I've been slowly moving into the realm of fine whiskeys. Canadian Ryes, Bourbons, some whiskey liqueurs and now finally Scotch. Dad and I were drinking some good ones tonight with some great cheese and meats.

    Lagavulin 16 and Glenlivit 12.
