Talisker 10 at a friends place. It seemed slightly better than the last time I tried it, I'm beginning to think they're stepping up their game a little. Anyone tried talisker storm and talisker 10 who can give me a comparison? I keep seeing storm mentioned and I just saw it's only half a kroner different in price in Norway so thinking I might pick up a bottle.

    Default Scotch/whiskey of the day

Storm is pretty good but I'd still personally rather a bottle of the 10 year old. Skye is the one that everyone thinks is a bit shit but you never know—personal tastes and all that.

I'm not so much a fan of these cheaper NAS bottlings that keep getting inserted into distilleries' lineups, which aren't that good and are there just to make cash.

I don't mind it when a distillery like ardbeg or bruichladdich, for example, have NAS whiskies as their core range because they're usually good (and/or backed up with ages or distillation/bottling dates in the small print) but the new stuff like talisker skye or laphroaig select etc...I don't get that. Glenlivet founder's reserve I thought was awful!

We just picked up a bottle of Storm last week. I think it's not quite on the level of the 10 yr old, but at about 2/3 of the price here in Denver, it is a nice dram.

Maybe I'll pick up a bottle then. I don't think I've heard anything good about Skye from anyone. The price difference is equivalent to about 5p. It's my birthday on Monday too, so I think I can justify a bottle.

That's a pretty big difference. It's about $0.06 different over here.

What are the laws like on sending alcohol to Norway? If you ever want anything that you can't normally get hold of, hit me up because I still owe you a return favour for the aquavit. [emoji106]

Oh yeh, I'd forgotten about that. I'm not sure, I think it's either not allowed or costs a pile of tax. I'll look into it. How was the aquavit? To me some are really nice, others are a bit over the top with the caraway.
