I guess I am a lady. What an ass the author is.

    Couldn't agree more, ma'am.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

"There are single ones and blends.." What is a single one?! He clearly needs to do his home work before posting cr*p like that

Did you watch the video that the main article is obviously copied from? I love the bit where he keeps knocking back these expensive single malts like they're water, and then says something something 'Eeslay'!

Also I'd never before considered a Speyside whisky to be 'a mixture of Highland and Islay'.

    Default Scotch/whiskey of the day

Did some duty free shopping on my way home.

Decided to add to my Balvenie family with the 16yr triple cask.

Would you post a link to the video or the title and location on the web?

If you follow the link there's a big play button roughly half way down the article.

I'll try and post it separately later.

I agree. I'm a peaceful man, rarely moved to thoughts of violence. But after watching that piece of... video, I was left thinking that slapping both of them would probably be fully justified.

    Default Scotch/whiskey of the day

The most interesting thing about it is the alleged manliness.

If I'm at a pub or a bar that has a good single malt selection, I'll often buy a whisky but I've never had anyone be like 'woah, is that a whisky?! You're a beast, man!' At best it'll be 'you want a what?' Or 'wtf is that? Are you drinking your weird drinks again?'

Even from so-called whisky drinkers: 'what are you having?'

    'Um, I'll have a highland park 12 - I'm sure I saw a bottle.'

    'What the hell is that?'

    'Uh, whisky...'

'Right, whatever, what's wrong with Bell's and coke?'

Funnily enough, I once had to point out to the guy behind the bar that the bottle had a cork, not a screw cap. That was after I stood there for about a minute while he kept twisting the thing with no success! Shows how little people know even when they work with the stuff!

I also had a friend, who claims to enjoy a good whisk(e)y as his drink of choice, tell me that he'd discovered that Grant's is the best whisky to have with vimto.
