Thanked: 603Lovely grinder! Resembles mine (although mine's got straight sides, metal drawer, and a grind-adjustment knob, top-rear) -- it's a late-1960s/early-1970s Zassenhaus, and it's my "daily" grinder. A 2007 eBay purchase. Bodum "Shin Bistro" press-pot.
Given your location, you might appreciate what I found written on the underside.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Mine is a Zassenhaus as well. Grind adjust is inside under the mill. Think it is a bit earlier around the 40s mark. The curved sides are for holding between the knees. Will grind fine enough for espresso but takes a fair while when grinding that fine.
Restored a de pew for my neighbor a while back. They are pretty simple but very well built with quality parts. My wife calls me.........Can you just use Ed

One way to tell the quality of a found coffee mill is to look at the adjustment mechanism. If at the crank shaft in plain sight, not so good. The better ones had the fine adjust mechanism inside and can be adjusted after removing the grounds box. Turn the lever/ tab at the base of the shaft to adjust.

Used a coarser grind and a hotter flame today and the coffee was much better, i also turned the heat off sooner.
Still dont really think much of these beans though considering the price.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Ed it is a bit of a drive for you but ants in ya pants in vic park has a good variety to choose from. Usually about 8 to 10 kinds all within probably 3 days of roasting. From memory it is 12 for 250g, 19 for half kg and 34 for a kg.
