Heaven forbid that you did! I was just waxing lyrical, it's a night for waxing lyrical...

Did some bits from the machine gun hit the top of your head too Carl?
In my experience shaving cuts seem to be fine as far a regrowth is concerned, but the scars where new skin has had to fill in patches such as the one on my chin after cycling through the back window of a car, the one on my sideburn where a chunk of my skin got gouged out, and the one on my head from where I gave myself a haircut when I was 10 haven't regrown hair.

    Rod,
    I'm military as well.
    1. Unless you carved a hunk of meat out that included the folical, the hair should grow back...although I think most people realize most scar tissue doesn't include hair follicles.
    2. Use some antiseptic, neosporan etc, and let that heal.
    3. As to looking strack, shave around the cut and then cover the cut and hair you cant get with a band-aid. I've been in uniform long enough to see facial band-aids and know what happened...it's not just people who shave with SR that cut themselves.
The Chain of Command will understand.

    The hair will grow back…

As to shaving around it, use a bit of olive oil or almond oil instead of lather and you'll be able to shave up to it really closely. Lather the rest if you like but just use oil for the "up close" fine detail stuff.

    It'll probably grow back.

If you did go deep enough to remove or damage the folicals though (e.g. hair does not grow back), it's narrow and small enough that the surrounding hairs would cover the scar pretty quick anyway - making it hard to spot unless someone looks close right after you shave.
