Just used a stypic for the first time today. Unpleasant but, I'm not bleeding anymore.

Buy them at Wall Mart, one will last a couple of years if you don’t get them wet with your fingers.

Pick a small drop of water in you sink and dab the drop, the tip will drink it up, then dab you cut, may take a couple dabs on your cut to stop the bleeding.

Wipe clean on tissue or tp. Store in a dry place.

Like said above just wet the end and kind of paint it on the cut, until a) it stops stinging and b) it stops bleeding. You may have to wipe the residue off when its dried. Clubman makes a huge styptic pencil for a reasonable price, i.e less then WalMart. It will last you for life..

Correction...It should last you for life. I know a guy locally that is about through one in 8 months.

His face must love him I guess I should have stated it should last you for a life because as you said Splashone some people go through them quickly. That's quite impressive though!!!

He told me about his first shave in which he filleted (probably should have gone to the ER) his cheek. He does have quite a scar...Plus unknown to me, he is on blood thinners. He described the scene as, the bathroom looked like I had slaughtered an animal in there. My chest was covered in blood.

Got to give him credit for perseverance though, He is still using his straight!

I went to Walmart a few days ago and bought that mammoth styptic. I figured if I get shot I'd just duct tape this beast on the wound, lol.

I've got a pretty large pile of quikclot. The powdered variety from when I was in the Army and some roll on gauze from my current job. I figure that should work right?

Thankfully I never had to use my Quikclot while I was in, so I don't know from experience; but I'm pretty sure that stuff, when activated by moisture (i.e. blood), starts a chemical reaction that cauterizes the wound. No way would I use that stuff on minor cuts. Might have been good for the guy that filleted his cheek, though...

Honestly, unless your face is close to coming off in two....I would never put quick clot anywhere near your eyes. That's a bad day, my friend.
