Thanked: 1I use a hot towel, right out of a hot shower. Hot towels are a awesome part of the shave.

Hmmm, never much time for the hot towel. I think I may have to give it a try over the weekend when I have more time.
I will let you know, I bet its amazing.

I only use cold water after I shave. I used to use hot water but I love the way the cold water feels and now it's just the way I do it.

Thanked: 335Ok then, when does one stop with the wet towels, commence with the dry ones and get on with the day?

I go straight for the cold water rinse followed by AS.

I don't use any towels during my shave. (My wife keeps my shave cream and occasional blood away from the linens.)
I do a HWR before the shave and after each pass. At the end I do a CWR before the AS, ASB, etc.
On the few occasions I've gone to the barbershop for a shave, I really enjoyed the steam towels and that final ice water towel. Wakes you up!

I've always heard about the warm water rinse or the hot towel post-shaving but never tried it for myself. Might have to give this a go...

Thanked: 190Cold water rinse and after shave. When that cold water hits the skin, it sends a shock through my body and any little cuts or weepers immediately stop and close.
Its invigorating when its summer, but not as much when its cold outside.

I go with a towel that is as cold as I can get it under the sink... (pretty cold at my house)
