I tend to agree with Robert. A few drops of mineral oil might work as a pre-shave to soften one's beard. But as a post-shave or aftershave? I would stay away from it. My earlier experience with pre-shave oils is that they clogged the pores of my face, leading to pimples and blackheads.

In fact, if I did use mineral oil as a pre-shave, I would try to remove it from my face before applying some other type of post-shave emolient such as aloe vera or some other type of ASB.
