niveau is one of the very common brands in the netherlands, just a 'supermarket' brand. Nevertheless, I like it very much and it has good quality.

That's quite the same in Australia. You can purchase Nivea after shave balms at most supermarkets and chemists at a great price for the quality you recieve.
I tried many different brands of aftershave until I found the sensitive skin variety offered by Nivea and it's the best i've found at a great price.

The Nivea Sensitive balm is indeed really good. It keeps a nice protective smooth layer on the skin for quite some time. Although it doesn't work very good on solidifing minor cuts, which can occur at a stubborn hair for example. I recently tested with adding some aluin to increase the solidifing performance. The balm gets really watery when you add aluin. Add your favourite shaving cream (with scent) untill the mixture will become a balm/paste. This works and smells really nice. I am not a chemist, so use at your own risk of course.

I used this balm for many years when I still used a disposable cartridge razor. I enjoyed it, but I thought it was a little greasy. I do have oily skin though. I now use Clubman aftershaves. They remind me of old barber shops!

My experience has been the opposite. I have found it less greasy than many out there.

I have the Nivea Balm for Sensative skin and the price is right. I have more expensive Balms and vitamin C creams that do a better job, but again for the price, it performs well.

    Pabster,

I agree. I use Nivea Sensitive as well as Extreme Comfort and both work well for me as an ASB.

I use the Nivea Replenishing Balm most of the time after shaving, followed by the aftershave and cologne. I rum it into the skin until the initial greasy feeling goes away. Then you can apply the cologne or aftershave for the desired scent. Great stuff for healing the effects of shaving on the skin surface and the price is extremely reasonable.

I have tried all of the different Nivea post shave balms, but for me, none of them give me the results of the Replenishing balm. It is interesting that some people put aftershave on top of the balm instead of the other way around. I will have to try that and see how it works.

I use Dominica Bay Rum, and I would think that the alcohol would be a solvent to the Nivea. But maybe not.
