Look into an ointment called Emu Oil. It is the processed fat of the Emu bird and has many holistic properties.
Emu oil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I can attest to emu oil's healing aid. A few years back I had a gasoline fire on my face for a few seconds. Long story short, skin literally dripped off, 2nd degree burn on 60% of my face (including lips and eyelids). I was treated, no grafts, and given a cream and was told, this will scar. At the time I worked as a body piercer and we used and sold a product called Emu Oil to promote healing in piercings as well as tattoos. I started daily rubs, multiple times a day with the oil, and this kept my skin moist and prevented scabbing which in turn lowers scarring. After 2 days, I saw results and threw away the ER's cream. After 2 weeks, my face was only a slight shade of pink (due to new tissue) and a month later, there was literally no sign of a burn.
Since then, I use emu oil for many things, sore joints, dry skin, any wound I get, AND in my shave routine! I mix 2 drops of the oil in my AOS balm and rub in. Since emu oil promotes very fast healing, when used in conjunction with an AS balm, any possible razorburn or cuts heal as quick and neat as possible.
If you would like some help locating some, please don't hesitate to contact me.
EDIT: Almost forgot, emu oil is EXCELLENT at reducing as well as possibly eliminating scar tissue. I have used it on a few scars, all have greatly reduced, and some are even impossible to find at this point.Last edited by Arbroath; 02-24-2011 at 11:51 PM.

There is nothing, short of makeup or pastic surgery, that will make a shaving cut disappear overnight.
Depending on how deep your scar is, however, you may want to try Palmer's Pure Cocoa Butter in the jar. It is used by women after pregnancy to reduce stretch marks. Over time, if applied daily, it may reduce the prominence of the scar."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

As far as I am concerned the two best pieces of advice have already been given, time and vitamin E. Ive been under the knife 16 times to be put back together and one on my leg was 21 inches long and looked like the Rockies, two years later its noticeable but you have to look, the two on my throat, one is almost invisible (2years) and the last one from Nov. you don't want to see if you like yourself as much as I do,but its fading nicely.
Never tried Mederma, but the vitamin E works that much I know. Besides, men are supposed to have a few battle scars.
I figured you should see them ,if you only see one then dont worry,it will go away, and like he said "embrace you inner pirate" and thats almost cool looking at this pointLast edited by Grizzley1; 03-01-2011 at 03:33 AM.
