Ogallala Bay Rum is proving very popular in Australia, I think it is one of the top scents available, It is amazing how each scent varies, the wood ones really mellow it out, but I was super suprised how much I like the lime & peppercorn!

Maybe it's just me but the scent does not seem to last for ages like the "big brand" aftershaves/EDT/perfumes, I guess it is about the long lasting chemicals they use.

I've got the Ogallala Bay Rum with Sandelwood in the larger blue bottle. I can see the oils in it floating around. Says to shake well before using. When it was down a bit, I added about 3 drops of dish soap, some Ethyl Alcohol (EtOH) and a little bit of straight witch hazel. Now a shake makes the mixture cloudy, and that means it is emulsified, or more dispersed, in the liquid. Ogallala Bay rum consists of oils in a witch hazel base or carrier, Bay oil, oil of Clove Buds, Rosemary, Ginger, Orange extracts, Cinnamon, and leaf of Wintergreen. So, yes, it's going to smell like some concotion that reminds one of Christmas.

I think he needs to add an emulisifier to this main batch before bottling. It might improve the quality from bottle to bottle, as my small plastic samples bottles seem a bit different than the larger blue bottle I got. I liked the Bay Rum and Sandlewood in the small sample bottles better than I did in the large bottle. What I wish I had now was the Sage and Bay Rum. That really smells nice!

John Marquis comes from where I grew up. I met my wife at Ogallala, NE. I have relatives living in Ogallala, and it was the favored place to shop for us living in Oshkosh, NE just up the road some 30 miles, for such things as groceries, and discount stores there in Ogallala. One of those things that started out in the garage and then..... who knew!
