Ogallala Bay Rum, from Ogallala, Nebraska
I've only started an interest in straight razors since Feb 8, about 1 month ago. What I found interesting is that I grew up close by Ogallala, NE, in the town of Oshkosh, NE. I've gone to Ogallala countless times, been to Front Street, seen Boot Hill (cemetery) but until now, I never knew there was a company in Ogallala that was selling shaving products. Sometimes in your own back yard. I can't tell you I know what Bay Rum smells like, but it was one of the favorites of the cowboys of long ago and even recent I guess.
All the movies I went to see in Ogallala, the groceries I bought, the folks I know, and some are kin, I never even guessed that there wold be something in the shaving world that others, like you all, have heard and tried. It must be good, or I wouldn't see so many examples on the Shave Of The Day.~~ Vern ~~
I was born with nothing and managed to keep most of it.

Ogallala bay rum is one of the best there is.
I have ordered multiple times and am never disappointed.
I have tried many brands of Bay Rum and if you are bay rum lover it is a must in not only you shave but life as well. I even have a bottle at work.
I use it in every shave, and as a pick-me-up mid day, a hair tonic, preshave etc. etc. It is a great and versitile product.笑う門に福来たる。

I'm also a Nebraska ex-pat (Omaha) and been to Ogallala many times, I have family out that way. I was pleasantly suprised when I learned of Ogallala Bay Rum. It's funny how sometimes things come from the most unexpected places.
I'm also about a 1 month newby, and I actually just got my sample pack from them this week. It has 4 2oz aftershave scents and 1 2oz of the cologne for about $15. The scents are amazing, and you really should give them a try. Really friendly customer service too. When these run low I will definitely be ordering more.Last edited by KingOscar; 03-10-2011 at 09:09 PM.

Thanked: 0I've been wanting to try this Bay Rum for a while but it's rather expensive to have it shipped to Canada.

I second jhenry's suggestion. I recently purchased the Bonanza Pack, which contains 4 2oz bottles of various flavors of Bay Rum and 1 2oz bottle of Bay Rum cologne. John (owner of Ogallala) also threw in a cake of Bay Rum scented soap (not shaving soap, but soap for bathing) and a small bottle of Bay Rum scented air freshener.
Truly an excellent product line
