I've posted this many times over the years in different places: Putting petroleum jelly on the face and removing the excess with a terry cloth towel and leaving a thin invisible film is an old actor's trick employed to keep them looking as young as possible over the years. I read this decades ago and the article was referring to A-list actors and actresses from the 20's on up to the 80's. It was considered to be thee best anti-aging regimen ever up until that time.

I have also read and had it confirmed that petroleum jelly does not clog or fill the pores and that this is a myth started long ago, the origins of which I can't remember now. The explanation I received was that it's viscosity at room temperature is not viscous/pliant enough to penetrate the pores to any depth and it is non-reactive to the skin. It's only function being to seal in moisture and seal out bacteria.

    Hope that helps.

    Best Regards,
    EL
