Reminds me of Senior year in high school I was trying to play through a few injuries during the Football season. Hamstring and quads were in bad shape and I was using Bengay like it was going out of style. One practice I was adjusting big jim and twins inside my athletic support not thinking I had just applied half a tube of bengay to my legs. Took about 2 minutes to figure out and there was virtually no relief for a good couple of hours.

I have 12 aftershaves to select from and all with alcohol. I don't have any cologne at all. I do love the burn of the aftershave though as it is a part of the shave that I look forward to.

I always thought that the extra "Burn" from Cologne-vs-AS was from the extra EO's and FO's is that true ????

Yup, it's the additional parfume (FO's and EO's, and sometimes other additives) that causes the increased burn, although some cologne's have even more alcohol than aftershaves, which is hard to believe when using AS's like Old Spice, English Leather, Brut etc lol

Contrary to cork sniffer abuse - Old Spice products are top notch and there's probably a good reason they've been around for more than a hundred years.

Anytime you don't get a good 'sting' when applying an aftershave product take a belt sander to your face and try it again.

I can't wait until you apply a stiptic pencil to a gash on your face. If you ever stop screaming like a little girl we'll be happy to hear of your experience.

    I LOL'd

In all seriousness though expect a burn for awhile on this learning curve lol

Some A/S have skin conditioners added to them also, so I would guess that those might act to tone down some of the Alcohol "burn" ????

Before I found SRP I shaved with a dull razor (I know it was dull because I remember what I did with it) and with shoddy technique, and a determination to not give up again on straights.
Then I splashed a generous amount of Hugo Boss on my face.

My neighbors must have heard me scream...

If you're talking plain AS vs Cologne pretty much every one I've tried had the same scent just that the cologne was way stronger. I know many years ago I used original Old Spice and the two were exactly the same save the strength. Maybe they're different these days.

I've been using my vintage straightie for about a year now - love the AS burn too : D but that cologne wasn't natural! Fiance seems to think I may be allergic to something in it, since my face turned purple for about three hours afterwards : P
