Thread: help fitting aftershave into my post-shave

Hello Michael,
This is my routine:
Tepid water rinse; gentle alum rub; cold water rinse; pat my Hollywood face dry; apply Thayer's Super Medicated Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera; apply aftershave balm; Apply aftershave splash of the day.

warm final rinse of last pass shave
alum block
brush teeth while alum does its thing
cold rinse, pat dry
cotton pad thayers flavor of the day, whole face
strop, dry, put stuff away
ASB of the day, a moisturizing balm

After I rinse with cold water, I use witch hazel, balm or lotion, and then aftershave splash last. I also cover my whole face & neck, with the exception of my forehead. (Just the shaved areas.) Seems to work good. Hope this helps.

I've been applying my aftershave after my balm, but it's starting to seem counter-intuitive. The aftershave seems to be removing the balm's moisturizing feel.

My post shave routine is:

Splash hot water to remove any remaining lather
Rub Alum block on
Over the Counter witch hazel splash
Cold water rinse
ASB

Thinking of trying some after shave's instead of the balm, but I just like the soothing feeling I get from the balms..
