Thanked: 247I am still developing a ritual. My neck is giving me fits, and I cannot seem to shave close due to the grain and the (seeming?) impossibility of shaving WTG or ATG.
I have been trying a little too hard lately, so my ritual is evolving afterward to repair the damage I am inflicting.
Generally, I do the cold splash followed by witch hazel, followed by Nivea or some "aftershave balm" made by a cologne maker...I realize that this is probably just cheap lotion with cologne mixed in.

For me I do my shave:
1. Clean up the blade and brush.
2. Shower
3. Use alum in the shower
4. Splash of Aqua Velva or Aqua Velva Musk after shower

Thanked: 334My new post shave ritual involves a large bonfire, a keg of Kokanee, my recitation of esoteric incantations from SRP's Library and scantily clad Hooter's waitresses dancing seductively whilst tossing hot wings at my feet.

Thanked: 37Just first cold water, dry the blade and strop 25 laps, clean the brush, shake and finish dry rubbing against a towel, then place it on top of my shaving stuff cabinet to air dry, Then I either splash Witch Hazel or rub the alum block. If I didi the alum wash it off before the AS (Aqua Velva at present).
