I apply the oil after washing my face and patting dry. I build my lather while the oil 'sets in' and I splash hot water in my face before lathering.

The oil mixture I describe above is not terribly greasy or oily feeling- it's more of a light dry oil. Also only 2-3 drops are needed- it almost fully absorbs in the 1 min it takes to make a nice lather.

I also use 1-2 drops post shave that I rub in my hands and then apply to my face- it's great.
