Default First try at face lathering

Ok, I've been at the wetshaving game for 3 years. The whole time, I was a bowl latherer. I began to think, "what if I could get rid of these bowls on my counter?". So I loaded up my Semougue 830 for 15 seconds with Petal Pushers Fancies. As I swirled the brush around my face, the lather exploded and the face lathering aided in the preparation of my beard. I don't know if I'm a face lathering convert, but I'm leaning heavily in that direction.

I face lather when I am in a hurry.

I use my mugs / bowls / scuttles when I have the time.

Because nothing beats lather from a warm scuttle on a cold morning!

I just started doing some face lathering with La Toja and Arko sticks. It is so easy I feel I'm cheating! Still like to do the hot scuttle/uberlather thing when I have more time though.

Yea, it is just another way to lather just like using a bowl and is a personal preference. Personally I don't care if the lather is warm or for all the extra jiggery pokery with using a scuttle even when it is -30C outside. Just depends what you want to do and either are effective ways to lather.

I've tried face lathering on and off over the years, it works but I find it's actually more work and takes more time to get the perfect lather. I always find myself going back to bowl lathering - I can't seem to stop using my scuttles

Nothing wrong with face lathering, it is more product dependent as some just dont seam to take to face lathering.

You dont have to do on the face you could simply use the palm of the hand.

It can get a bit crowded with all the paraphernalia i dont use scuttles or shaving mugs and just today not even hot water.

I haven't used my bowls or scuttles for a few years now, I figure I'm not shaving my scuttle, so why not spend that minute or so massaging the lather into my beard ,which needs it, rather than a bowl that doesn't.

Agree, as my father always put it " I have no problem stopping, my problem is I cannot stop starting again."
