I even went as far, on a very hot Summer AM, to rub an ice cube over my face when done shaving. I now adjust the water temp based on the time of year and the general temperature range. The warmer the day the cooler the water, the colder the day, the more lukewarm the water. Never go back to hot lather shaves, lukewarm is as far as I'll go and be free of irritations and the like.

I always rinse after shaving with cold water. IT WASHES THE BLOOD AWAY and closes the cuts. but seriously it does make the skin feel smother. and in this winter I don't need ice cubs I just hope the water don't freeze.

I might just have to try it ice cold. I just love the refreshing feel of rinsing off between passes and at the end.
I do try to go back to hot water if I can remember once a week just to mix it up.

Lately I have been doing this and find that indeed cold water shaves have a good effect on the outcome and closeness of the shave.
Being that most things contract under the influence of cold temperatures like your face which make your follicles stand up more and even the blade itself possibly making it slightly keener. I do like the comfort of the shave. I also enjoy hot water shaves still for the luxurious factor that they bring. Summer is coming and well I wont want a hot shave as much so I'm going to do it a lot more often.Don't drink and shave!

I know this has been beat to death but I wanted to post this incase anyone is thinking about it.
I have tried 2 cold water shaves this weekend and I am not sure that I can ever hot water shave again. Maybe its a mental thing but my face felt much better after both shaves. I plan to shave cold all week this week. I feel like I got a closer shave and WAY more comfortable. I recommend everyone tries it. Its free and worst case, tomorrow you go back to hot water.
JimyyHADs original closed post always had me curious about it so I finally tried it and I love it.

Thanked: 22Just to say: i'm cold now!!!
I'm finish with the cold shaving trial and the difference was so close between cold and warm water shave that doesn't justified to use more time on warm water shave.
So, as i wrote above: I'm cold now!!!Are you stressed???!!! Get out and go fishing!!!
