Yes, I use an Omega 10066 boar brush. The bristles are very stiff but then it is a boar brush. It took about 2 weeks of daily use to break it in properly at which time the bristles were slightly less stiff and the tips became nice and soft. I like it very much and am always amazed at how little they cost and how good a boar brush it is. Yes, Semogue boars are softer from the get go. I have a Semogue 1350 and yet I still prefer the Omega 10066 by a bit for some reason. Hope you enjoy your new Omega.

I wash my face, apply Proraso White, and then strop.

So as long as it takes to strop 20/50, refill my scuttle, and build a lather is how long the pre sits on my face before I shave. So... 4 to 5 minutes, perhaps?

That's funny, I also listen to jazz when I shave. I first started that ritual when I tried it for the first time out in California. Long Beach has a great jazz channel.

I'm not sure how much difference this actually makes or how much is just personal ritual and it is all in my so called brain. Bottom line is I notice the difference if I do it differently. Since shaving is such a personal issue it come down to what really makes it enjoyable for you.

    Hope this rambling makes sense
