Something in the quoted post isn't translating for my brain. I am familiar with pull-string light fixtures. There were around three in my grandmother's barn & hay loft when I was a kid. Also, most ceiling fans with light fixtures employ pull-string fixtures.

But... from your post, you seem to be having trouble finding bulbs that have a pull-string??

I've been in my house for 16 years now and have never gotten around to changing the light fixture in the utility room.
The pull switch went out in the original fixture and the quick fix was to screw in another pull switch socket. This is how
    I imagined 32t's plight.

Trust me I've been an electrician for near 20 years, you seriously need to replace that thing.
Google search keyless light socket with pull chain, many direct replacements out there.

I'm all over it, Coach! I gotta go to Lowes for some concrete blocks, so I'll get one TODAY, I swear! They're only about $5, just one of those things I've never gotten around to.

Mine is of similar design as Panama's.

I was thinking LED fixture with a pull chain. I did a search and found this.

We have a double vanity, with 2 lights above each. 150W CF, 5600K in each. I like as close to daylight on the color spektrum in areas that I want bright clear lighting.
