Default Best Hair Conditioner For Beard Softening?

    Hai guise,

For those of you that use a hair conditioner to soften your beard pre shave, which have you found to work best?

Usually, I use just about conditioner that's in the shower at the time, but just picked up some "volumizing" (you don't want "strengthening" for obvious reasons) V05 conditioner that I bought at CVS for a buck. Seems to do the job as well as any others.

I know that some of you guys are going to say that a hot shower is more than adequate, but hey, anything that adds an extra edge to my pre-shave routine is a big plus in my book.

I really don't think it matters. I use what I presently have in the shower for my hair. I fill a 4 - 6oz flip-top plastic bottle and keep it by my sink when I shave.

I currently am using "Aussie" brand. It's a good product for the price and it comes in a pump type of bottle, making it easy to fill my flip-top bottle. It works very well!

Morrocan Oil hair conditioner !! Smells fantastic and really softens the beard. The shampoo is awesome as well and smells just as good. My daughter is a stylist so I get to try all the different kinds of products she brings home !!!

I've been using some of the Garnier Fructis(sp?). My mom buys all these shampoos & conditioners that she ends up not liking so I end up with 'em. As long as it works great. Beard types are like hair types though, what works for one person might not work as well for the next.

I prefer the cheapest conditioner in the pharmacy. Luckily for me it also comes in a pump pack.

I'm not sure it matters. I use what's to hand. They just happen to be good quality.

I rotate what I use. I think your hair gets "used" to products after a while. I just got done with Nexus, which is a great product. I also use Aussie, Axe and Tresemme'.
Pre shave oil used regularly will also help soften your beard and give you the results your looking for...

Water (hot or cold) does well to soften the beard for shaving.

Actually I just read a post recently that stated that it does matter what you use. The Cliff's notes are go for moisturizing conditioners and avoid the brands that are fortifying or strengthening.
