Thanked: 1So I made my own Pre-Shave Oil...
... Actually it came out pretty good but having never used the Musgo Real stuff I really don't have a yardstick to compare it to. The ingredients are thus:
10ml Baby Oil (Lanolin based)
5ml Effacaisent Linement (Menthol, Eucalyptus, Methl Salycilate, Camphor)
8 drops Tea Tree Oil
I used it for the first time shaving today and did notice a difference in the closeness of the shave. It had a mild cooling effect on my face and best yet I had NO razor burn whatsoever even though I used a disposable razor that's past it's prime.

Sounds like a nice recipe. I just made up a batch of pre shave over the weekend, and broke the bottle yesterday morning. I think I will try this mixture next.

Pre Shave oils actually work better the more you use them. I've been experimenting around with various mixtures to include Jojoba, Sunflower, Olive, Castor, and Grapeseed.
I found the good Olive Oil to be overpowering in smell, so another member suggested getting the cheapie stuff...(Thanks Stefan) it has less of an odor. I want the smell of my EO or FO to come through...Castor will most definitely thicken your oils, so be careful how much you use...We have assumed control !

I use castor oil thinned with a little bit of mineral oil. It works just fine.
