Today was a good solid shave w/ a dulling blade (going to the hones tomorrow) on a 1-day beard (the hardest for me to soften) after a very close shave the previous day (always a risk for irritation if I try to beat the closeness). I'll probably wait for a week of shaves before giving a ringing endorsement, but it looks good so far! Seems like it actually does something!

2-day beard wiped away Shampooed beard 1st, then applied, hot toweling it off @ the end of the shower, then reapplied a small amount as a sort of pre-shave. Made lather in the scuttle & applied to face via hands, rubbing in well. Let mixture sit while stropping, then rinsed off w/ warm water. Lathered w/ brush as usual. The razor is due to meet Mr. Norton today, anyway, so it was barely shave-ready. Shave was still close.

    This stuff definitely works!

Still experimenting... I've found the best way so far is to completely wash it off (Dr. Bronner's works well for this) before exiting shower--otherwise it can actually make the razor slip when going ATG--at least for me. Then it works great.

Just to make sure, is this stuff a facial cleanser or like a conditioner, or a mixture of both?

Lucky Tiger pre-shave cream is like Proraso pre-shave...At a fraction of the cost.

It does something like an oil cleanse in a hot shower, plus lots of lanolin to soften the beard/skin. I've gotten consistently good results from this, as long as it's washed off before actually shaving.

I got some of this and have now run it through several shaves, with different razors, lathers and beard lenth.

At first I was skeptical this stuff didn't seem like much, plus I noticed that it was very greasy and didn't seem to rinse off real well.

I used a small amount (trust me a small amount is all you need) and worked onto my face in a hot shower. I let it sit while I showered then rinsed it off.

This stuff is great I had a noticable difference in each situation compared to my noxema hair conditioner treatment that I was doing before. Plus at under 10 bucks a container it's economical though with shipping it could get expensive if you live in place that doesn't sell it locally.
