A petrophobe would be one who is afraid of rocks.

    Petroleum - Rock oil
    Petroglyph - Rock writing

Hence, petrophobia - fear of rocks

    Killjoy.

How about I borrow some Brit slang ... "petrolphobe"?

The glycerin is ABsorbed by the skin, and disappears into it. You might argue that castor oil is ADsorbed on the surface of the skin (without penetrating), but I think it's a stretch to think of an oil interacting (being bound to) a surface in the manner that ADsorption implies. I don't object to the usage, however.

"Petrolphobe" is certainly better than "petrophobe", and probably what I meant to type.

I have tried grapeseed oil, avocado oil, almond oil and olive oil. To me, performance wise, they are all similar. In fact, I notice no difference in my shave when I use preshave oil. I use it occasionally just for a little added moisture.

My favorite combo is just straight almond oil with a few drops of peppermint oil. I guess you could use any EO, but to me, almond oil is the perfect consistency for a preshave oil. Not too thin, not too thick and not too greasy.
