Thanked: 12The glycerin is ABsorbed by the skin, and disappears into it. You might argue that castor oil is ADsorbed on the surface of the skin (without penetrating), but I think it's a stretch to think of an oil interacting (being bound to) a surface in the manner that ADsorption implies. I don't object to the usage, however.

Thanked: 12"Petrolphobe" is certainly better than "petrophobe", and probably what I meant to type.

I have tried grapeseed oil, avocado oil, almond oil and olive oil. To me, performance wise, they are all similar. In fact, I notice no difference in my shave when I use preshave oil. I use it occasionally just for a little added moisture.
My favorite combo is just straight almond oil with a few drops of peppermint oil. I guess you could use any EO, but to me, almond oil is the perfect consistency for a preshave oil. Not too thin, not too thick and not too greasy.
