Marble does seem to hold heat longer than regular porcelain. Have you tried a scuttle? That is probably what you are looking for.

Yes indeed. Scuttles are the way to go. Check our review section here:

Thanked: 8For lack of better terminology, I used the "hot bowl" title for this application based on a you tube video I watched.
What I find works well is to submerge it into a sink of hot water then shower. Once out of the shower she's ready to go. I've tried filling it with boiling water from the stove but that's far too hot, the lather dries out and gets cooked.

Thanked: 3Hot Bowl
I was thinking of trying one of those candle things my wifes uses to do the pot pouri stuff. Put my soap dish in the holder over the candle. Has anyone tried this?

Thanked: 1936Yes, I use this method exclusively. I plug in the warmer to pre-heat (If you do not have a GFCI plug, DO NOT DO THIS!!) and run a sink bowl full of hot water and let my lather bowl soak. Shower, then take the bowl from the sink bowl full of water and put on the candle warmer. Then I whip up a nice bowl of lather. Strop the razor I am to use, re-whip the lather & then lather up...followed by yet another wonderful shave. Life is good!

At one time, I used an electric Pot Pourri pot, which looks like a small crock pot. I had another vessell, a small flower pot looking thing, together it was like a double boiler.
Worked great. If you ever find one of those small crock pots, and want to use it, Julie at Dirty Bird pottery will make you an insert to build later in....We have assumed control !

Here's a small one from Target Aroma Electric Solid-Color Potpourri Pot : Target
Looks to be just about the right size too.
