Castor Oil and Liquid Lanolin are very thick. So much so that they are hard to apply to the face and neck. So far I really like Grape-seed and Jojoba. I have Almond and Shea Butter oil but haven't tried them yet.

Shoki's almond & shea butter oil?
I'm very intrigued by the shea butter oil...is it fairly accessible or is it going to take some hunting? Any idea of cost?

Just started using Baby oil as a pre-shave. Wow, what a difference. Under the neck I have pretty sensitive skin like most and the oil def made a difference. Seems to give a bit smoother shave and leaves your skin feeling nice and smooth as a baby's bottom! Probably the most bang for your buck as far as a pre-shave goes.
Heck I even got the wifey using Baby Oil on her legs before she shaves. I am slowly working my way up to her letting me make a few passes with my SR.

Shea Butter Oil is really nice. It's kind of... well buttery. A little goes a long way and your skin feels soft afterwards. I got mine here:

Almond Oil is easy to pretty easy to apply as well.

I just found the baby oil under the sink a few days ago. Discussing this thread with my wife she mentioned she had just tossed the Lanisoh. Luckily I recovered it. I can't wait to try them.

Thanked: 21I use mineral oil It is what baby oil is made of it just costs half as much. I also mix it with vitamin E oil. Sparingly for both. I put my palm over the opening and tip it upside down and back right side up whatever little sticks is all i use. I do it for both oils and just mix it in my palm.

Mineral oil is multi purpose, you can use it to protect your blades as well. It's the primary ingriedient in Wahl's clipper oil. Anyway, there's a place on the net called Wellington Fragrance, Massage & Carrier Oils @ Wellington Fragrance
I bought some oils, and EO's from them a while back to play around with. The stuff will probably last me a lifetime. I've tried EVOO, Castor, Mineral, Jojoba, Grapeseed, and Sunflower. It's hard to tell any real differences between them, so I'd go with a mix that's easy to apply, yet effective. Castor is very thick, so use it sparingly. You can get some EO's on the cheap, if your not picky about fragrance. Some are expensive, like Sandalwood, Bulgarian Rose Otto, etc...
Also, Get the EO's, not the FO's. I find the FO's to be to weak.We have assumed control !

I am kind of wondering about the Udder Balm I have in the bathroom. I usually apply that after a shave and it is great on dry chapped hands. When it gets a little wet is is VERY slick, has lanolin and other emoilents. Udder Cream

After reading this thread a few days ago, I decided to use the almond oil I had sitting around. The first shave I noticed a little improvement. I think I'll keep it up and see where it takes me.
A note to those who would use mineral oil...try not too ingest too much of it. It's a laxative.

I just wanted to add that using baby oil is just wrong. I'm sure it shaves great, but i mean from an ethical point of view.
Think about it, if olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?
