    Default Pre-razor trim

So my facial hair grows SLOW I usually go about 3-4days between shaves.....want to do it everyother day but my face get to razor irritated because of lack of anything to actually shave off other than skin! Now my question is I usually keep a goatee but every few months shave clean which I am thinking of doing again. Should I pre trim the goatee with clippers before taking a razor to it or just go for it??

    Thanks!

You could certainly trim it down first but the beauty of the straight razor is that it can handle facial hair of any length.

Cut it all off with the straight. That's the best part of growing a full beard. It's kinda weird actually....if it's long enough, the lather will make it into a nest. As you use the razor, it will literally "peel" the hair off your face.
